Job summary

IBM Software is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Intern for an agile, collaborative environment. You will build, deploy, configure, and maintain systems for the IBM client business, leading problem resolution from analysis to deployment of latest updates and fixes.

You will participate in 24x7 observability and cross-functional troubleshooting with engineering teams, deploying services at enterprise scale, and maintaining production reliability throughout the internship.

Qualifications

Experience in monitoring/observability, issue response, and troubleshooting for optimal system performance.
Automation knowledge for production environment changes and reducing toil.
Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
Understanding of day-to-day operations, alert management, incident support, migration tasks, and break-fix support.
Knowledge or experience of Python, Go, or Bash scripting.
Familiarity with cloud providers like IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure or GCP.

Responsibilities

24x7 Observability: monitor health of production systems and services around the clock.
Cross-Functional Troubleshooting: collaborate with engineering to provide assessments and workarounds.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues effectively.
Deployment and Configuration: use CI/CD tools to deploy services and configuration changes at enterprise scale.
Maintenance and Support: apply security patches and upgrades; collaborate with Product support for issue resolution.
