Job summary

Paragon Alpha in London seeks a Senior SRE / Platform Engineer to scale the infrastructure powering its elite quant hedge fund. You’ll own reliability, latency, and platform performance across Kubernetes, observability, and internal tooling.

You’ll collaborate with researchers and traders, develop Python-based services with Go/TypeScript components, and automate release processes on Linux-based systems, driving high availability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Kubernetes expertise and platform engineering foundations.
• Strong observability, metrics, logging, tracing experience.
• Proficiency in Python; Go/TypeScript across stack is a plus.
• Linux systems, networking, and automation skills for scale.
• Experience with reliability, latency optimization, and reducing toil.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability and performance of the trading platform infrastructure.
• Build tooling and internal developer platforms for researchers and traders.

Senior SRE / Platform Engineer | Elite Quant Hedge Fund | London

Paragon Alpha is partnering with a leading ~$70BN AUM quantitative trading firm following an exceptional 2025 and continuing to invest aggressively across its global technology organisation.

As the business scales, they're expanding a world-class Infrastructure / Site Reliability Engineering function responsible for the reliability, performance, and scalability of the technology powering systematic trading. In this environment, availability, correctness, and latency aren't just engineering metrics – they're a competitive advantage.

This is a genuinely high-impact engineering role sitting at the intersection of SRE, Platform Engineering, and Software Engineering, where you'll build the tooling and infrastructure that enables researchers and traders to operate at scale.

You'll work across:

• Kubernetes and large-scale distributed platforms
• Observability (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting)
• Backend platform services and internal developer tooling
• Python engineering, with Go and TypeScript across parts of the stack
