Job summary

Bumper is hiring a SRE/DevOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure team, based in Sheffield or London (Hammersmith). You will shape reliability, scalability and observability across our cloud‑native platform, collaborating with engineers to build a high‑performance, monitorable system.

You’ll lead incident response, implement SLIs/SLOs and drive automation to reduce toil, with a strong focus on modern CI/CD using Argo and GitHub Actions. Hybrid work, UK offices, 3 days on site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Solid experience with Terraform and IaC automation.
• Experience participating in or managing production incidents and on-call.
• Strong grasp of monitoring, alerting, and observability principles.
• Ability to diagnose and fix complex distributed systems issues.
• Demonstrated use of GenAI tools in engineering workflows.
• Excellent communication and calmness under pressure.
• Passion for automation and reducing toil.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Manage and enhance Kubernetes (EKS) platform for reliable applications.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm.
• Improve and support CI/CD pipelines using Argo Workflows, ArgoCD and GitHub Actions.
• Lead and participate in incident response, including on‑call activities.
• Drive monitoring, alerting and observability across metrics, logs, and traces.
• Conduct blameless post‑incident reviews and follow‑ups.
• Define and implement SLIs/SLOs to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed best practices and developer experience.
• Automate and improve tooling to reduce toil and increase resilience.
