Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a proactive and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) within a Primary school in the NP16 area from September 2026. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with ALN/SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Severe Learning Difficulties, Pro- found and Multiple Learning Difficulties and sensory needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support within the SRB.
  • Adapt activities and communication to meet pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and independence.
  • Work with teachers, the ALNCo and specialist professionals.
  • Implement personalised learning plans and sensory strategies.
  • Assist with personal care where required.

Pay: £92.63 per day

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a proactive and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) within a Primary school in the NP16 area from September.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN/SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and sensory needs. You\'ll work within a highly supportive team, helping pupils access learning, develop independence and thrive in a structured, nurturing environment.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support within the SRB.
  • Adapt learning activities and communication to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and independence.
  • Work alongside teachers, the ALNCo and specialist professionals.
  • Implement personalised learning plans and sensory strategies.
  • Assist with personal care where required.

Previous experience in education, care, youth work or supporting individuals with additional needs is desirable, but not essential. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
