Senior IT Consultant – Product & Market Engagements

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Consultant to work closely with our Product, Technology, Operations, and Commercial teams to support the continuous development and market growth of our holiday rental marketplace platform.

The role will act as a bridge between technology and business, helping translate product and market requirements into practical technology solutions. You will support product teams in defining priorities, improving platform capabilities, resolving complex technology challenges, and enabling successful market engagements.

This is a hands‑on consulting role suited to someone who understands marketplace platforms, SaaS/digital products, integrations, APIs, cloud technologies, and business processes, and can confidently engage with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Product & Technology Consulting

• Partner with Product Managers and business stakeholders to understand product objectives, customer needs, and market requirements.
• Provide technology consulting and recommendations for new product features, platform enhancements, and market‑specific capabilities.
• Translate business requirements into high‑level technical solutions, system requirements, and implementation approaches.
• Identify technical dependencies, risks, constraints, and opportunities early in the product lifecycle.
• Support product teams with solution design, technical discovery, feasibility assessments, and technology selection.
• Review existing platform capabilities and identify opportunities for scalability, automation, performance, and cost optimization.

Market & Client Engagements

• Support market expansion and new market launches by assessing technology and operational requirements.
• Work with commercial and market teams to understand partner, supplier, regulatory, and market‑specific requirements.
• Participate in client, partner, and stakeholder meetings as a technology subject‑matter expert.
• Present technical solutions and platform capabilities to both technical and business audiences.
• Support responses to RFPs, RFIs, technical questionnaires, and customer due‑diligence requests.
• Assess integration requirements for external partners, suppliers, property managers, payment providers, distribution channels, and other marketplace participants.

Marketplace & Integration Support

• Support the design and evolution of integrations with third‑party platforms and services.
• Work with API, integration, data, and engineering teams to define integration requirements and technical approaches.
• Understand data flows across booking, property, availability, pricing, payments, customer, and partner systems.
• Help investigate and resolve complex integration or platform issues affecting customers, partners, or market operations.
• Ensure proposed solutions align with platform architecture, security, reliability, and scalability standards.

Stakeholder & Delivery Management

• Act as a trusted technology advisor to Product and business leadership.
• Facilitate workshops, technical discovery sessions, and solution discussions.
• Work across distributed engineering and product teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery.
• Challenge requirements constructively and recommend alternative approaches where appropriate.
• Track technical risks, dependencies, assumptions, and decisions.
• Support prioritization by providing clear assessments of technical effort, complexity, risk, and business impact.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Significant experience in an IT consulting, technology consulting, solution consulting, product technology, or technical business analysis role.
• Strong understanding of digital marketplaces, SaaS platforms, e‑commerce, travel technology, or similar consumer‑facing platforms.
• Experience working closely with Product Managers, Engineering teams, Commercial teams, and senior business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of APIs, REST services, system integrations, cloud platforms, databases, and modern software architectures.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical requirements and solution designs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to understand complex systems and identify practical solutions.
• Experience supporting external customers, partners, vendors, or market‑facing engagements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience working in Agile product development environments.
• Strong understanding of technology delivery, software development lifecycle, and change management.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in holiday rentals, travel, hospitality, property management, OTA, or marketplace technology.
• Knowledge of booking, inventory, availability, pricing, payments, distribution, or property‑management systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with event‑driven architecture, microservices, data platforms, and integration technologies.
• Experience with payment, identity, CRM, analytics, or third‑party marketplace integrations.
• Experience supporting international market launches or market‑specific technology requirements.
• Understanding of information security, GDPR, PCI DSS, and other technology/compliance considerations relevant to digital marketplaces.
