Job summary

OneAdvanced is seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join our Database team in Birmingham. The role is hands-on, 3rd-line support, owning health, performance and security of customer SQL Server estates across on-premises and Azure.

You will work across Always On, failover clustering, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS, backups, DR plans, patching and security hardening, with a focus on delivering resilient data platforms and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery (Always On, clustering).
• Strong T-SQL and PowerShell automation.
• Experience with Azure SQL / SQL Server on Azure VMs.

Responsibilities

• Tune performance and resolve slow queries, blocking, and deadlocks.
• Configure and operate SQL Server across lifecycle including Always On and SSIS/SSRS/SSAS.
• Design backup, restore, and DR plans to meet RPO/RTO.
• Patch, upgrade and harden security; enforce least-privilege.
• Plan and implement new builds and migrations; produce HLD/LLD docs.
• Monitor and manage capacity; use Foglight for proactive improvements.
• Participate in 24x7x365 on-call rota.
