Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Sprinkler Installer’s Mate to support on-site installation of sprinkler systems for diverse commercial and industrial projects in Manchester. You will contribute to high-quality installations while upholding health and safety standards.

We seek a pragmatic, reliable candidate with a positive work ethic, ready to work toward CSCS, and comfortable taking on flexible hours to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Support installation of sprinkler systems on site; obtain CSCS if needed.
• Promote a Zero Harm safety culture and follow safe working practices.
• Identify and report near misses to improve workplace safety.
• Install mechanical fire suppression systems and related components.
• Deliver high-quality service and build strong customer relationships.
• Be reliable, punctual and flexible for project delivery.

What you will do

We are looking for a Sprinkler Installer’s Mate to support support the installation of sprinkler systems for a diverse range of customers across the commercial, industrial, public sector, and blue-chip markets.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality installations while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety. We’re looking for someone with a positive work ethic, a commitment to quality, and a customer-first approach to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards.

How you will do it

• Hold a CSCS Card or be willing to work towards obtaining one (support can be provided)
• Help create and maintain a Zero Harm environment by following safe working practices and promoting a safety-first culture
• Proactively identify and report near misses to help make the workplace safer for everyone
• Install systems using your knowledge of mechanical fire suppression systems
• Deliver an excellent customer experience by providing a high standard of service, solving problems, and building strong customer relationships
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and flexibility, including working additional hours when required to ensure the successful delivery of projects

What we look for

• Reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Full UK driving licence

Preferred

• Technical knowledge of fire legislation and industry standards within the relevant field
• Good understanding of the industries and environments we protect
• Previous sprinkler installation experience would be advantageous
• Experience installing mechanical fire suppression systems is desirable
