Our client, a respected educational institution in Hartlepool, County Durham, is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join their team as a Full-time Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant. Responsibilities

As a Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive sports lessons, as well as providing classroom support to enhance the learning experience of our students. Your role will be instrumental in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, fostering a love for sports, and developing essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and contribute to the overall success of our school. You will be responsible for planning and delivering sports lessons, assessing student progress, and providing individualised support to help each student reach their full potential. Additionally, you will assist classroom teachers with various tasks, such as preparing learning materials, supervising group activities, and offering one‑on‑one support to students who require extra guidance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for working with children and a strong background in sports coaching or physical education. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt to the diverse needs of our students.

A relevant degree or qualification in sports coaching, physical education, or a related field is highly desirable. You should also have:

  • Experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably with school‑aged children
