Job summary

An educational staffing agency is seeking an experienced Sports Coach to support students with SEMH needs in a primary PRU. The successful candidate will engage pupils through sports, coordinate activities, and collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor progress. Ideal candidates should possess Safeguarding training, Team Teach Level 2, and a passion for sports. A generous daily pay between £95 and £105 is offered, along with opportunities for professional development and DBS processing support.

Position: Sports Coach - PRU

Location: Manchester (M11)

Pay: £95 - £105 per day, depending on experience

Start Date: 05/01/2026

Are you an experienced sports coach looking for a new role? We are currently seeking sports coaches to join a primary PRU in the Longsight area, supporting KS2 with SEMH needs. This is an excellent opportunity to use sports as a way to engage pupils into their studies.

The Role
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, using passion for sports as a way to re‑engage.
  • Co‑ordinating fun and engaging activities for pupils.
  • Collaborating with teachers and parents to monitor progress.
Experience, Training & Qualifications
  • Up to date Safeguarding training within the last year (desired but training can be provided).
  • Team Teach Level 2 is highly desired.
  • A passion for sports and delivering sports sessions.
  • A calm and resilient nature.
  • Excellent behaviour management strategies.
Eligibility & Requirements
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional references.
