Job summary

A local educational institution in Walsall is seeking a Sports Coach (Hockey Specialist) to deliver extracurricular coaching sessions and support the PE department. The ideal candidate will have coaching experience or a high level of sports participation, good communication skills, and a commitment to student welfare. The role offers £19.32 per hour plus holiday pay, on a casual basis as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a sports coaching role or playing sport to a high club level.
  • Experience within a school context is desirable.
  • Flexible, able to use initiative and stay calm under pressure.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills, familiarity with ICT, and ability to support learning.
  • Ability to interact with colleagues and students in an appropriate manner.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver extracurricular coaching sessions including Games afternoons and accompany fixtures under the guidance of the Head of PE.
  • Implement programmed sessions with students in the activity spaces of the PE department.
  • Work constructively as part of the PE team, understanding roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a sports coaching role or playing sport to a high club level.
  • Experience within a school context (desirable).
  • Flexible, able to use initiative and stay calm under pressure.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills, familiarity with ICT, and ability to support learning.
  • Ability to interact with colleagues and students in an appropriate manner.
