Salary: 95 - 135 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for an energetic and inspiring Sports Coach to work across our secondary schools based in the Northumberland area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual to make a positive impact on student's physical education, well being, and overall school experience.

You’ll be working closely with the PE department to deliver engaging sports sessions, lead small groups, and assist in extracurricular activities - helping students develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of sport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the PE department in planning and delivering high-quality sports lessons.
  • Lead small group activities and assist in full-class sessions under the direction of teaching staff.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and positive behaviour during lessons and sporting events.
  • Organise and support lunchtime and after-school clubs, fixtures, and tournaments.
  • Promote a healthy, active lifestyle and act as a positive role model for students.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and health and safety policies are followed at all times.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a sports coach working with secondary-aged students, ideally in a school or youth sport setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate young people in a classroom or sports environment.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind).
  • A passion for education and training, sport, and youth development.
Desirable
  • Degree in Sports Science, Coaching, or Physical Education.
  • Experience supporting GCSE or BTEC PE lessons.
  • First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications.
