Sports Coach – Full-Time (Temporary)

Location: Broxbourne, Hertfordshire

Start Date: ASAP (continuing into next academic year)

Hours: 35.5 hours per week | Mon–Fri 08:45–15:45, plus two days finishing at 17:15 for after‑school club | Term Time Only + 10 days (Holiday Club)

Teach Now is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic Sports Coach to join a specialist school in Hertfordshire supporting children with Severe and Complex Learning Difficulties. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about physical development, wellbeing, and providing inclusive opportunities for pupils with diverse needs. All pupils have an EHCP, and the school is renowned for its nurturing, holistic approach and strong multi‑disciplinary teamwork.

About the Role

As a Sports Coach, you will play a pivotal role in promoting pupils’ health, independence, and engagement through tailored physical activities.

  • Plan, deliver, and coordinate high‑quality physical and sensory‑based activities
  • Support pupils’ individual learning, sensory diets, and wellbeing
  • Assist with personal care, first aid, and pastoral needs
  • Provide administrative support to teachers, including record‑keeping and use of Tapestry
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and professionals (Physiotherapists, SALTs, School Nurse)
  • Supervise classes and, when required, lead learning in the classroom
  • Plan and run activities for After School Club and Holiday Clubs
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, confidentiality, and health & safety procedures

This is a hands‑on, active role suited to someone energetic, compassionate, and adaptable. Candidates should have experience working with children, strong communication skills, and ideally a Level 2 coaching qualification, first aid training, and experience across multiple sports.
