Area – University of Nottingham Sport

Location – University Park

Salary – £24,084 to £24, annum pro‑rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

As part of this programme, two part‑time positions are available for a Sports Centre Receptionist to join our front of house team at the Jubilee Sports Centre.

Post Details

Post 1 (28.5 hrs) – Saturday & Sunday: 7:45 am – 3:15 pm
Monday & Tuesday: 2:30 pm – 10:45 pm

Post 2 (14.25 hrs) – Friday: 6:45 am – 3:00 pm
Sunday: 2:45 pm – 10:15 pm

Roles and responsibilities
  • Taking bookings by telephone or in person
  • Collecting and reconciling monies on reception whilst on duty
  • Dealing with enquiries, directing users, issuing hire equipment
  • Managing membership enquiries and issuing membership cards
  • Checking the validity of users and dealing with lost property
Qualifications and experience
    \
  • Excellent telephone manner and ability to work calmly and professionally when under pressure
  • Previous experience of working in a similar customer‑focused role is essential
  • Evidence of managing cash‑handling/reconciliation processes
  • Experience working with computer‑booking systems would be desirable

Excellent communication and customer care skills, together with a pro‑active approach to tasks and attention to detail are therefore essential.
