GSL Education are currently recruiting a Sports Assistant to join schools in Gateshead. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and motivated individual to support pupils’ physical development, encourage healthy lifestyles, and assist in delivering engaging sports and PE sessions across the school.

Job Summary
  • Support the delivery of high-quality PE lessons and physical activities under the guidance of the PE Lead or Sports Coach.
  • Assist with extra-curricular sports clubs and inter-school competitions.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and fair play among pupils of all abilities.
  • Help organise equipment, prepare resources, and ensure the safe setup of sports activities.
  • Promote inclusion and enthusiasm for sport and active living.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to enhance the school’s PE provision.
Requirements
  • Experience supporting or coaching sports with primary or secondary-aged pupils.
  • Enthusiastic about physical education and promoting active lifestyles.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Positive, reliable, and approachable attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
