Job summary

A leading educational recruitment agency is seeking a Sports Assistant for schools in Ashington. This role involves supporting physical education, assisting with sports clubs, and promoting active lifestyles among pupils. Enthusiasm for sports and strong teamwork skills are essential. A positive attitude and Enhanced DBS registration (or willingness to apply) are required. Competitive pay of £90 - £110 per day.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or coaching sports with primary or secondary-aged pupils.

GSL Education are currently recruiting a Sports Assistant to join schools in Ashington. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and motivated individual to support pupils’ physical development, encourage healthy lifestyles, and assist in delivering engaging sports and PE sessions across the school.

Job Summary
  • Support the delivery of high-quality PE lessons and physical activities under the guidance of the PE Lead or Sports Coach.
  • Assist with extra-curricular sports clubs and inter-school competitions.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and fair play among pupils of all abilities.
  • Help organise equipment, prepare resources, and ensure the safe setup of sports activities.
  • Promote inclusion and enthusiasm for sport and active living.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to enhance the school’s PE provision.
