• Lead the overall operation and performance of the Sports at the college
• Manage and coordinate academy staff/coaches, timetables and facilities usage
• Drive student recruitment, retention and progression across academy pathways
• Build and maintain partnerships with clubs, governing bodies and community stakeholders
• Oversee events, fixtures, trips and competitions, ensuring compliance and safeguarding
• Monitor KPIs and quality, contributing to academy strategy and continuous improvement
• Support learner welfare and pastoral needs in line with safeguarding requirements

Are you an experienced sports education leader ready to take ownership of a high-performing sports academy programme?

We're working with a well-regarded education provider in Northampton who are looking to appoint a Sports Academy Manager on a fixed term contract until 31st August.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on academy operations, learner experience, performance pathways and employer / community partnerships.

As Sports Academy Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the academy and the delivery of an outstanding learner and athlete experience. You'll work closely with curriculum teams, coaches, student services and external partners to ensure the academy runs smoothly and continues to grow.

The Role

• Leading the overall operation and performance of the Sports at the college
• Managing and coordinating academy staff/coaches, timetables and facilities usage
• Driving student recruitment, retention and progression across academy pathways
• Building and maintaining partnerships with clubs, governing bodies and community stakeholders
• Overseeing events, fixtures, trips and competitions, ensuring compliance and safeguarding
• Monitoring KPIs and quality, contributing to academy strategy and continuous improvement
• Supporting learner welfare and pastoral needs in line with safeguarding requirements

The Person

• Experience leading or coordinating a sports academy / sports programme (education, community or performance setting)
• Strong operational management skills (planning, timetabling, stakeholders, budgets/resources)
• Confident managing staff and working across multiple departments
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and student support (or willing to train)
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
