A leading educational institution is seeking a Sport Systems Coordinator passionate about improving the customer journey through digital systems. The role involves managing leisure management systems, responding to user queries, producing data reports, and ensuring compliance with data management procedures. Ideal candidates will have strong IT skills, experience in a customer-focused environment, and a collaborative mindset. Join a dynamic team committed to excellence and innovation in sport and leisure services.
Are you passionate about improving the customer journey via digital systems and communication within a dynamic sport and leisure environment? Do you have experience working with leisure management systems and posses technical and data skills? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join Southampton Sport as our new Sport Systems Coordinator.
Southampton Sport is part of the University’s Estates & Facilities department, supporting our mission to create a thriving, active community. You’ll join a friendly, forward-thinking team committed to innovation, inclusivity, and excellence.
Some evening or weekend work may be required to support events, system updates, or operational needs.
We aim to make the University of Southampton the destination of choice for students and staff to thrive through inclusive, sustainable, and empowering physical activity experiences.
As the Sport Systems Coordinator, you’ll take the lead in maintaining and developing the systems that underpin our sport services. You’ll ensure our leisure management system (LMS) and other customer platforms are configured, accurate, and optimised to support an excellent experience for all users — students, staff, and community members alike.
Working as part of our Customer Excellence Team, you’ll manage the relationship between Southampton Sport and our LMS, ensuring the customer journey is simple and streamlined. You’ll support troubleshooting queries, produce insightful data reports, and ensure our systems comply with GDPR and University standards. You’ll also contribute to digital development projects, helping us explore new technologies, AI opportunities, and improvements to the customer experience.
This is a varied role that combines system administration, data reporting, and customer service support — ideal for someone who enjoys both technical work and collaborating with people across teams.
You’ll be a confident system user with a high level of computer literacy and a strong understanding of leisure management systems. You’ll be comfortable with professional email communication to customers and competent with data reporting.
You’ll also be a clear communicator who enjoys problem-solving and working collaboratively with colleagues and partners.
Experience within a higher education or sport and fitness environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
