Job description

Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant Monmouth (Autism Support 7 16)

Are you a graduate ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with autism? A welcoming network of primary, secondary and specialist schools in Monmouth is seeking a compassionate and motivated Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 7 16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future in SEN teaching, educational psychology, therapy, or pastoral support.

As a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with autism both inside and outside of the classroom. You will assist with lessons, provide one-to‑one and small group support, and help pupils manage emotions, communication, and social interaction. Through physical activity and structured routines, you will help pupils develop confidence, self‑regulation, and positive engagement with learning.

You will be joining supportive schools that prioritise inclusion, wellbeing, and individual progress. Many graduates who start in this type of role go on to teacher training, SEN qualifications, speech and language therapy, and child psychology, making this an ideal foundation for a long‑term career working with children and young people.
