Sports Coach / Cover Supervisor – LoughboroughSmile Education

Education is partnering with a leading secondary school near Loughborough to welcome dynamic Cover Supervisors / Sports Coaches to their team starting after Christmas, Jan 2026.

Length: 15‑month fixed term contract, 5 days/week, 37 hours per week.

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to act as a Cover Supervisor and Sports Coach, inspiring young minds, supporting the school’s daily timetable and fostering an environment of physical education excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality cover supervision across all day parts.
  • Co‑develop and implement daily sports and physical activity sessions for students.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and incident reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and student leaders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school’s sports programmes.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the strategic development of performance support services, aligning with the Performance Sport Leadership Team’s vision and values.
  • Oversee multi‑disciplinary teams and implement robust quality assurance processes.
  • Manage budgets, forecast financial plans, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with key partners, including the School of Sport & Exercise Science and the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine.
  • Drive innovation through technology integration and the use of AI in performance support.

What We’re Looking For
  • Substantial experience in delivering and coordinating support services in a high‑performance, multi‑disciplinary setting.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple budgets.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (sport science, sports medicine, or strength and conditioning).
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to identify growth opportunities.
