East Coast College in Great Yarmouth is seeking a Sport and SEND Course Lead to drive curriculum delivery and learner achievement across sport and SEND provision. You will lead teaching, ensure high-quality learning experiences and coordinate across programmes.

The role requires planning, delivering and coordinating teaching, monitoring learner progress, and engaging with employers to enhance opportunities. DBS checks and teacher qualifications are essential within three years of appointment.

Qualifications

• Relevant teaching qualification (PGCE/DTLLS or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths evidence is required.
• Experience delivering sport and SEND provision is essential.
• Safeguarding and welfare responsibilities will be upheld.

Location: Great Yarmouth Campus
Hours: 0.8 FTE - 29.6 Hours
Contract: Permanent - Part Time
Salary: Lecturers Scale (£35112.48 - £41600.00)

Are you passionate about transforming lives through education, sport, and inclusive learning? We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Sport and SEND Course Lead to inspire, support and develop learners across our sport and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead curriculum delivery, drive learner achievement, and create an engaging learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

As Sport and SEND Course Lead, you will be responsible for planning, delivering and coordinating high-quality teaching and learning across sport and SEND programmes. You will play a key role in curriculum development, learner progress, quality improvement, and employer engagement, ensuring students benefit from an inspiring and industry-relevant educational experience.

Working closely with curriculum colleagues, support teams and external partners, you will develop programmes that promote independence, confidence, employability and personal development alongside vocational and academic achievement.

Key needs from you and the role;

• Lead the planning, delivery and quality assurance of inclusive Sport and SEND programmes, ensuring learners achieve positive outcomes and progress towards their goals.
• Teach and assess learners using engaging, adaptive and student-centred approaches that meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
• Monitor learner attendance, progress and wellbeing, implementing timely interventions and providing effective pastoral support where required.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, community organisations and external agencies to enhance learner experiences, enrichment and progression opportunities.
• Promote and uphold safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion responsibilities, creating a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment for all learners.

East Coast College require all staff to hold a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in English and maths, and be able to evidence this.

Please note, candidates who secure a teaching position, but do not currently hold a teacher qualification are required to obtain this within their first three years of employment. This can be provided by the college, however, the employee will be required to sign a commitment form, where they will be eligible to pay fees back should they fail to complete the qualification, or exit the organisation within the committed timeframe. Employees can secure their own funding such as Student Finance for the qualifications should they wish.
