Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Level 7 Assessor to support students with a range of Additional Learning Needs at New City College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer a variety of standardised tests and observational methods to evaluate reading, writing, mathematical and other cognitive and language‑related abilities.
  • Analyse assessment results to determine whether an individual has a Specific Learning Disability (SpLD) and, if so, identify the specific disability.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing assessment findings, including diagnosis, strengths, weaknesses and other relevant information.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to parents, educators and stakeholders to foster understanding and support for the individual.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to maintain expertise in the field.
  • Educate parents, teachers and other professionals about SpLDs, their impact and effective support strategies.
  • Organise, assess and process Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) from referral to confirmation.
Qualifications
  • Level 7 SpLD qualification.
  • Current Assessment Practicing Certificate (APC).
  • Experience supporting and teaching students with Additional Learning Needs.
  • Strong communication skills.
