Overview

Evodia Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking a highly qualified Safety Manager with DV security clearance to join a pivotal project based in Bristol. This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, with a requirement to be onsite 3 to 4 days per week, to ensure close collaboration within multi-domain safety environments.

About the Role

The SPISR Safety Manager will be instrumental in overseeing safety assurance activities, including the review of Safety Cases, Safety Appraisals, and providing SQEP advice to support the formal safety approval process for equipment delivered to frontline operations. Your experience across both land and air domains will be crucial to ensure regulatory compliance, effective safety risk management, and the successful transfer of safety responsibilities within complex defence projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend Safety Working Groups and PSEPs, influencing safety management plans such as SEMP
  • Review and validate Safety Cases and Haz logs, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Generate ALARP confirmation documentation, and manage safety cases and safety actions trackers
  • Produce safety documentation including ODH / Platform Transfer letters
  • Advise on capturing, assessing, and quantifying functional and physical safety hazards
  • Ensure adherence to legislative requirements and maintain safety documentation policies
  • Conduct 1st Party Annual Safety Case reviews and address any audit findings
  • Collaborate with Independent Safety Assurers (ISA) to address audit actions effectively
Candidate Profile

We are seeking a candidate with a robust background in system safety within both Air and Land environments, preferably holding a Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status, or demonstrated equivalent expertise. Essential criteria include:

  • Proven experience as a Safety Practitioner within the defence sector
  • Membership of relevant professional safety institutes or recognised bodies
  • Demonstrable experience with ASEMS and system safety management tools and processes
  • Development of Safety Management Systems for complex projects
  • Formal safety training through recognised courses with proven benchmarking
  • A minimum of Level 4 NQF qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
Contract Details
  • Location: Bristol (Hybrid - onsite 3-4 days/week)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Until 31 March 2026, with potential for extension
  • Day Rate: £500 to £600 per day (Inside IR35)
  • Security Clearance: DV clearance is mandatory
