Pulse have recently partnered with one of the UK’s specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service. This post is based inBirmingham, which is easily accessible via public transport.

About the role :

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be working in a specialist schoolfor children and young people aged 7 to 19 years. Its specialist multi-disciplinary team support all of its young people living with social emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism (ASC), communication and sensory difficulties, attachment difficulties, childhood trauma and moderate learning difficulties (MLD) towards excellent outcomes in preparing for adulthood.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist :

  • Manage own caseload providing therapy services to pupils according to clinical need and in close liaison with the school’s clinical team.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, staff meetings, supervision, training and annual appraisals.
  • Identify speech, language and communication difficulties or disorders; assessing the cause and nature of the problem.
  • Devise and deliver a suitable therapeutic programme, working on a one-to-one basis or in groups, to enable each of your young people to improve as much as possible.
  • Plan and deliver training sessions to staff and parents / carers, as appropriate.
What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist :
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience with young people who have neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Experience working with young people with developmental trauma within a Trauma-Informed Model
  • Skilled in carrying out both individual and group interventions.
  • Ability to drive
