Responsibilities

  • Speech & Language Support: provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
  • Implement Strategies: support activities and interventions recommended by teachers, SEN staff, or Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Facilitate Learning: help pupils access the curriculum by adapting activities, modelling language, and using appropriate communication strategies.
  • Develop Communication Skills: encourage pupils to develop vocabulary, listening, understanding, expressive language, and social communication skills.
  • Track Progress: monitor and record pupils' progress and share observations with the class teacher, SENCO, and relevant professionals.
  • Collaborate: work closely with teachers, the SEN team, parents, and external professionals to provide consistent support.
