Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Speech & Language Support Assistant to work across South Manchester starting September. You will provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with speech, language and communication needs, and adapt activities to help learners access education.

This role offers varied hours across full-time, part-time, temporary or permanent opportunities. Ideal candidates have experience with SEND, strong communication skills and a patient, adaptable approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND, speech and language or communication needs.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Communication Support Worker or similar.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualifications welcomed.
• Willingness to work across multiple schools in South Manchester.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
• Support communication, interaction and social development.
• Deliver or support targeted communication activities and interventions.
• Adapt classroom activities to help pupils access learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage confidence and independence.
• Work alongside teachers, SEND teams and external professionals.
• Follow individual support plans and contribute to pupil progress.
