Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking a Speech & Language Support Assistant to work at a SEND school in Gateshead. The role involves delivering targeted interventions and embedding communication strategies throughout the school day.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils with speech and language difficulties, develop language skills, and record progress, collaborating closely with teachers and SEND staff. This is a temporary, full-time position in a SEND setting.

Qualifications

• A Speech & Language, Communication, Education or SEND qualification.
• Experience supporting children with communication needs.
• Knowledge of SEND.
• Experience delivering interventions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A patient and consistent approach.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience supporting pupils with autism, non-verbal communication, complex SEND or social communication difficulties.
