Job summary

Pace School in Buckinghamshire is seeking a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist paediatric education setting. You will manage a specialist paediatric SLT caseload and deliver targeted therapy to pupils aged 5–16, supporting communication, participation, and independence within the school environment.

The role requires HCPC registration, experience in paediatrics or specialist education, and a collaborative approach with teachers, therapists, families, and staff.

• Experience in paediatrics or specialist education
• Knowledge of autism and developmental language disorders
• Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage a specialist paediatric SLT caseload
• Complete communication, language, speech and swallowing assessments where appropriate
• Develop and deliver personalised therapy programmes
• Support children with complex communication needs, autism, and developmental language difficulties
• Work collaboratively with teachers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, families, and wider professionals
• Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews, and multidisciplinary planning
• Provide training and advice to school staff and parents/carers
• Support service development and junior colleagues

The Role

You will provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention, helping pupils develop their communication skills, independence, and participation within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a specialist paediatric SLT caseload
• Complete communication, language, speech and swallowing assessments where appropriate
• Develop and deliver personalised therapy programmes
• Support children with complex communication needs, autism, and developmental language difficulties
