Bank Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

Band 3 - flexible hours

We are looking to recruit a Bank Speech and Language Therapy Assistant which will support the delivery of our SLT services across Gwynedd and Anglesey.

This opportunity would particularly suit student SLTs who are looking for flexible working hours that are responsive to the academic year and their own availability.

Main duties of the job

As a bank SLT TI, you would have the opportunity to enhance your professional and clinical learning by working alongside NHS SLTs and Assistants, developing and utilising your skills working directly with people across the age range, on a 1:1 basis and in groups, who experience communication or swallowing difficulties.

You will receive full support and training in this role from our team of very skilled, experienced and welcoming therapists, TIs and admin colleagues.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Experience
  • Relevant experience of working within a Therapy environment. Sound understanding of the role of Speech & Language Therapy. Sound understanding of child speech/language development and/or the concept of rehabilitation/recovery as appropriate to the clinical area. Basic knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance Basic knowledge of main conditions relevant to area of speciality and the effects of illness on function. Awareness of Health & Safety legislation & practices. Proven ability to apply knowledge following training Self-motivation for Continued Professional Development
  • Experience working in a related health/social care or education setting. Working in a leadership role
