Job summary

A specialist education provider in West London is seeking a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to support children with Autism. You will work within a multidisciplinary team in a newly established school setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in aiding communication for neurodivergent learners and a passion for special education. This role offers the chance to contribute to shaping a unique learning environment for students.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience supporting children with Autism in educational or clinical settings.
  • Familiarity with therapies designed by Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Desirable experience using AAC systems like PECS or sign language.

Are you a passionate Speech and Language Therapy Assistant ready to be part of something new and exciting?

About the School

This specialist school has been purpose-built to meet the needs of children with Autism and related communication difficulties. The setting features modern sensory and therapeutic spaces and sits in a spacious, green location within easy reach of the Elizabeth Line.

The school has already earned an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating at its first inspection (July 2025) and is on an exciting journey of expansion, with a long-term goal of becoming a multi-site provision supporting up to 200 pupils.

You'll be joining a small but growing multidisciplinary therapy team, working closely with an in-house Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist.

What We're Looking For
  • Practical experience supporting children with Autism, ideally within a specialist school or clinical environment
  • Familiarity with implementing therapy programmes designed by qualified Speech and Language Therapists
  • Experience using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems such as PECS, communication devices, or sign language (desirable)
  • A genuine passion for supporting neurodivergent learners and promoting communication-centred practice
