Job summary

Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist – Acute and Rehabilitation

Permanent Contract, Full Time: 37.5 hours per week.

About

The SLT team at Hillingdon Hospitals are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive adult in-patient service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and treatment across acute, stroke and neurorehabilitation settings, including care of the elderly, general medicine, respiratory and trauma pathways.
  • Work as part of the SLT team and wider multidisciplinary team, supported and supervised by a Specialist SLT and Clinical Lead SLT.
  • Gain experience across acute and rehabilitation settings and provide regular teaching and training to nurses, medics and other AHPs.
  • Receive regular clinical supervision, monthly CPD sessions, peer support and evidence-based practice sessions.
Qualifications

Completion of the RCSLT Newly Qualified Practitioner framework and in-house dysphagia competency training. Experience in acute, stroke and neurorehabilitation settings is preferred. Please refer to the Person Specification for detailed requirements.
