Location

Bankside College, 15 hours per week, flexible on which two days are selected. Term‑time only. Fulltime contract flexibility can be discussed based on personal circumstances.

Essential Requirements
  • Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent; HCPC registered member of RCSLT.
  • 1–2 years’ experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting.
  • Experience engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles.
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice.
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working in a range of settings.
  • Experience communicating with families, relatives, and carers.
  • Good relationship‑building, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
  • Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management.
  • Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group.
Desirable
  • Understanding of how sensory, motor, and arousal levels impact communication strengths, difficulties, and needs.
  • Evidence of knowledge about the impact of developmental trauma on communication.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs.
  • Hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload with full support from the designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the education team to endorse personalised learning and support pupil autonomy.
  • Adopt an innovative, person‑centred, and empowering approach, putting pupils at the forefront of all decisions.
  • Maintain a strong safeguarding culture and uphold the law and professional standards.
