Job summary

A leading health organization in North Wales is seeking a Band 5 Adult Speech and Language Therapist to provide effective therapy for communication difficulties and dysphagia. The role involves developing clinical practice across various services and requires the ability to speak Welsh. Job description

Band 5 Adult Speech and Language Therapy

We have an exciting post for the right applicant, here in beautiful North West Wales! You will develop independence in your clinical practice with both communication difficulties and dysphagia through working with a range of patients across acute and community sites.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be able to develop and explore your own clinical interests across the breadth of adult services. We will support with regular appraisals, management and clinical supervision and a strong focus on continued professional development, including developing your independent dysphagia competencies through our All Wales competency framework if needed. We have a newly qualified practitioner support group and a robust system to support you to achieve your NQP competencies.

We will welcome you into our friendly, supportive and experienced team of SLTs and TIs, working across acute, community and ALD services in North West Wales. You will be joining us at an exciting time as we develop increasing remote and digital therapies, work within multi-disciplinary teams to transform health and social care for adults, and develop newly re-modelled stroke services across the region. It has never been a better time to be an AHP in Wales, with increasing government funding for new and expanding roles, and AHPs - including SLTs - working within government to transform our services for the future. Qualifications
  • Recognised qualification degree/equivalent in S<. HCPC registered. RCSLT registered.
  • Membership of appropriate clinical network group.
  • Demonstrate understanding & involvement of clinical governance and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of health legislation/policy.
  • Alternative and augmentative communication knowledge & skills.
Experience
  • A range of clinical experience across Adult/Paediatric SLT services.
  • Experience of delegating work to non-registered staff.
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary/ multiprofessional teams.
  • Experience of supporting service change.
  • Welsh/English therapy provision.
  • Additional clinical or health care related experience.
