Job description

We are looking for a keen, enthusiastic SLT to join our team! You will work on the Stroke ward and general acute wards assessing and treating swallowing and communication problems in adult inpatients.

We are a large, friendly team with great supervision structures – both 1:1 with senior SLTs and Band 5 peer supervision - and we have regular in‑service training and are committed to ongoing professional development. We will support with NQPs and dysphagia competencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • The post holder will provide a high-quality, evidence-based and efficient speech and language therapy service to adults within the Stroke Unit and general acute wards.
  • The post holder will provide assessment, therapy and management of swallowing and/or communication difficulties in adult inpatients.
  • The post holder will participate in ongoing continuing professional development, clinical audit and inservice training.
  • The post holder will be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their professional and clinical work, working to agreed national and professional standards.
