A family-run therapy service in West Yorkshire seeks a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join their team. This full-time role involves supporting children with communication challenges in primary and secondary schools. Candidates should be well-organized, flexible, and passionate about improving children's speech and language skills. The position offers a supportive team environment, hybrid working options, and a competitive package in line with NHS standards. A valid driving license and vehicle access are required.
Based in the West Yorkshire area
We’re an independent family business who have a shared commitment: supporting children to communicate to the best of their ability. At LINGO, we support children with speech, language and communication needs through direct therapy, school-based interventions, training and consultancy. Our team of therapists work with schools – from early years through to secondary – though also work with parents and wider professionals.
We believe in building strong relationships and use practical, evidence-based approaches to enable positive outcomes. We offer consultancy to Trusts, schools and settings, deliver training courses and conferences and are working nationally with charities and universities on various projects and research across the country.
We are a small, highly motivated team who are passionate about the importance of communication and developing these crucial skills in the children and young people we work with. We’re proud of the impact we make, and we’re now looking to grow our team with someone who shares our ethos.
This post is full time, term time plus 4 weeks, working in primary and secondary mainstream schools in West Yorkshire.
You will work in a number of schools on a regular basis, working with staff to support best practice in developing and supporting children’s speech, language and communication, and working directly with pupils. The role involves working with children with a range of language difficulties, working predominantly with small groups and within mainstream classrooms.
Training will be provided to the successful candidate for a range of interventions offered to schools and support will be given for recently qualified therapists, working alongside more experienced colleagues in the first instance.
We are looking for someone with similar values to join our team. You will need to be well organised, have the ability to work flexibly and to seek support when needed. Experience is less important than the right ethos; to be passionate about what you do and provide a robust and reliable service to our schools, teaching staff and pupils.
As an independent therapy service, we collaborate with NHS colleagues wherever possible and work with schools to involve parents.
As there is travel between schools, candidates are required to have a valid driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
If this role sounds like something you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you. For more information, visit www.lingospeech.co.uk and get in touch with any questions or if you would like to see the full job description. We also will accept CV’s and cover letters sent over email.
