Are you a passionate and driven Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a real difference in people's lives? We are seeking a dedicated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, providing high-quality care to a range of patients.

Role Details
  • To provide a specialist clinical Speech & Language Therapy service within the stroke specialism as part of the South Tees Stroke Service, within the framework of clinical governance.
  • To provide specialist communication and / or swallowing assessment and intervention for other patients with a range of medical conditions as part of the South Tees Adult Speech & Language Therapy inpatient 'acute dysphagia' service. This could be across a range of settings including acute and community hospitals and in outpatient clinics.
  • To work flexibly as part of the South Tees Stroke Service and as part of the Adult Speech & Language Therapy Team to meet the needs of the service.
  • To assess and treat own caseload of patients/clients & maintain associated records.
  • To keep accurate clinical records of therapeutic interventions in accordance with Trust policy and local / national standards.
The Successful Candidate Will
  • Hold a Degree in Speech & Language Therapy or equivalent
  • Be HCPC registered
  • Have previous NHS experience at a band 6 level
  • Have post graduate dysphagia training
  • Basic IT skills and competence (ability to use Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, e‑mail and internet)
  • Significant post‑graduate experience of working with adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders including after stroke and with other medical disorders
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of
  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
