Job summary

A specialist education provider in Hillingdon is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to support children with communication and swallowing needs. The successful candidate will develop and deliver therapy programmes, work collaboratively with school staff, and ensure effective communication strategies are integrated into the curriculum. This role is full-time and term-time only.

Qualifications

  • Registration with HCPC as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Knowledge of AAC, Makaton, or PECS is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills required.
  • Patient and empathetic approach to supporting pupils' development.

Responsibilities

Are you a qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC in the UK? Do you have a passion for helping children and young people with communication and swallowing needs reach their full potential?

Uniform Education is recruiting a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist for a specialist school in Hillingdon. The school provides tailored education and therapeutic support for pupils with a wide range of needs, including Autism, SLD, PMLD, and physical disabilities.

About the Role

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will:

  • Assess, plan, and deliver tailored therapy programmes to support pupils' communication and language development
  • Provide direct 1:1 and group interventions to promote speech, language, and social communication skills
  • Support pupils with alternative communication systems such as Makaton, PECS, and AAC devices
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and other therapists to integrate communication strategies across the curriculum
  • Contribute to EHCP assessments, reports, and reviews
  • Offer training, guidance, and resources to staff and parents to ensure consistent support
  • Monitor and evaluate pupils' progress, adapting interventions as needed
What We're Looking For
  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist (essential)
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (Autism, SLD, PMLD, or complex communication needs)
  • Knowledge of AAC, Makaton, or PECS (desirable)
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
