Job description
Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6–7) – All-Through SEND School, Kingston

Start date : Ideally 1st December (January start considered)

Contract : Locum (minimum 3 months, with potential to become permanent)

Location : Kingston – with potential for occasional work at another local SEND school

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a dynamic, forward-thinking all-through SEND school in Kingston. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with complex communication needs. Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ communication development across the school. You’ll work alongside an experienced SALT and a part-time SALT Assistant (1 day per week), collaborating closely to provide high-quality, evidence-based therapy and staff support.

Who We’re Looking For
  • Band 6–7 level clinician
  • Significant experience working with children and young people with complex communication needs in educational settings
  • Training and expertise in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to work as an equal partner within an established therapy team
  • Flexibility to support another local SEND school occasionally if required
  • Confidence in delivering therapy, supporting staff training, and contributing to the wider communication environment across the school
