Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for Speech and Language Therapists (SLT) to join our committed team. This role involves delivering high‑quality services to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties across Northumberland and North Tyneside.

The position is part of a band 5 rotation scheme offering experience in a variety of settings and client groups. It is suitable for new graduates seeking experience in adult work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the assessment and treatment of patients on your caseload, including those with stroke, dementia, neurological and respiratory conditions.

• Work with clients presenting with a range of acquired aetiologies, providing direct intervention, liaison, and joint working with other staff and carers.

• Help maximise communication and swallowing skills, reduce risk and enable full participation in society.

Professional Leadership

• Model compassionate and inclusive leadership, engaging, enabling and empowering others.

• Use coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement.

• Facilitate team working and collaboration within teams/departments and across organisational boundaries.
