Job summary

Specsavers Bognor Regis is offering an apprenticeship to become a fully-fledged Level 3 Spectacle Technician. You'll spend 15-18 months in a paid job while learning the trade under an experienced team in a modern store.

You’ll complete on-the-job training alongside structured learning and gain a recognised qualification at the end of the programme. The role requires GCSE Maths and UK work rights, with daily travel to the store.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths at grades 9–4 (A*-C) or equivalent qualification.
• You’ve lived in the EU for at least 3 years and have the right to work in the UK.
• You must be able to travel to the store location daily.
• You must not have previously worked in the Optical Sector.

Responsibilities

• Produce customer orders from scratch, interpret optical prescriptions and drawings, correct faults and re-assemble glasses.
• Carry out testing and adjustments, prepare and maintain materials and equipment.
• Ensure the highest quality assured product.

The store offers a wide range of services including comprehensive adult and children’s eye tests, OCT 3D eye scanning, contact lens services, eye health assessments, home eye tests and specialist dry-eye treatment through ZEST. The team works in a modern, professional environment with the latest clinical technology, supporting patients with their vision and overall eye health.

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Level 3 Spectacle Technician.
