Specifications Technologist

We are recruiting for a Specifications Technologist role based between Nottingham / Scunthorpe

Working within the Technical Team the role is key to ensuring the quality and safety of all products and ensuring they adhere to B2B and Retail customer specifications.

Kettle Meal Solutions is part of Barrowcliffes group of companies who are owned by Kettle Produce Ltd, the group consisting of six manufacturing sites employing over 1500 people based in the UK and Spain. Barrowcliffe's is one of the UK's most established food processing companies and specialise in providing chilled food products to the retail and food service sectors.

Role Purpose
  • To assist in the development of products from concept to launch.
  • To be the principal specifications writer and artwork co-ordinator.
  • Reviewing, maintaining, and updating current specifications.
  • Acting as the central contact for all specification and artwork queries, with the ability to complete customer questionnaires on raw materials.
  • Working closely with the Commercial and Production teams to develop, maintain and update current internal specifications.
  • Working closely with the Technical team to ensure all customer testing requirements are met.
  • To provide support as required by the business.
  • Assisting with the internal auditing program, against the requirements of the BRCGS Standard for Food Safety.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Specifications experience.
  • To show a professional approach and lead designated projects.
  • Projects may be split so working on multi-customers.
  • A strong self-starter who is self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Certified to Level 3 in Food Safety and Level 2 HACCP.
  • Experience in a food production environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to ensure information is effectively communicated to other Departments.
