Job Title: Specification Sales Manager – Steel Framing

Industry Sector: Through The Wall Construction, Wall Performance, External Wall, Building Envelope, Main Contractors, Architects, Dry Lining Contractors, Façade Contractors and Steel Framing Contractors

Area to be covered: North East & Yorkshire

Remuneration: £55,000-£60,000 per annum + up to 30% bonus

Benefits: Fully expensed hybrid car & Full Benefits

Responsibilities
  • Field sales position selling lightweight structural steel framing systems
  • Project‑led role
  • 50% new business development, 50% account management of existing projects
  • Managing 100’s of live projects at any one time at various stages of development from design and drawing up to systems already delivered to construction sites
  • 40% of your time selling into sub‑contractors such as dryliners, façade contractors, etc.
  • 60% of your time winning specifications and influencing architects and main contractors
  • Managing an area currently turning over between £1.5m‑£2.5m
  • Conducting CPDs to specification design managers and other key decision‑makers
  • Maximising leads from installers and managing key supply‑chain partnerships with main contractors
  • Dealing with project sizes from a few hundred metres of wall elevation up to 30,000 square metres
Qualifications
  • Must have structural or technical specification field sales experience with architects and/or main contractors
  • Ideally with contacts within architects, main contractors and sub‑contractors such as dryliners
  • Ideally knowledge of through‑the‑wall construction/wall‑performance field, fire resistance/fire testing, etc.
  • Preferably from a blue‑chip construction manufacturer background such as insulation, cladding, plasterboard, facades, rainscreens, renders, curtain walling, steel framing, timber frame, off‑site systems, windows, dry lining, etc.
  • Ideally understands the concept of “U‑Value” calculations, “acoustic value”, MMC thermal, and how they interface
  • Strong presentation skills
