Overview

The Role: One of the UK's leading construction, engineering and M & E manufacturing organisations has a very rare and potentially career-defining permanent opportunity available.

Working a hybrid model with your office based at the UK Headquarters in East Sussex, you will play a vital specification consultant / technical sales role working closely with main contractors, consultants, architects and specifiers to propose comprehensive solutions to commercial, retail, hotel, industrial and construction projects. Your work will revolve around but is not limited to mechanical engineering, M & E, HVAC and light structural steelwork.

Working closely with external stakeholders, clients and internal technical engineering, CAD and project teams, you will play an integral role in achieving successful sales tenders, orders and projects.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, qualify and win specification-led projects by working with main contractors, consultants, architects and specifiers.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders and internal engineering, CAD and project teams to develop comprehensive solutions for commercial, retail, hotel, industrial and construction projects.
• Support successful tenders, orders and project delivery through technical input and stakeholder engagement.
• Promote mechanical engineering, M&E, HVAC and light structural steelwork competencies within the specification phase.

Candidate Requirements

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with proven technical sales abilities in roles such as specification sales consultant, technical sales consultant, technical sales executive, sales engineer or other commercially involved sales professional.
• Experience in the specification phases is advantageous but not essential; experience dealing with architects, specifiers, consultants and main contractors is preferred.
• Ideally from a mechanical engineering, M&E, HVAC, fabrication, structural steelwork or related construction field; however, we are willing to consider other technical markets for the right candidate.
• Demonstrated track record as a sales consultant or specification sales professional seeking new opportunities.

Location & Hybrid Working Details

This role requires occasional travel to site. The UK head office is based in East Sussex. The role is hybrid and locations south of Oxford are acceptable, with preferred areas including Crawley, Tunbridge Wells, Horsham, Guildford, Basingstoke, Reading and nearby regions (Brighton, Lewes, Seaford, Uckfield, Hailsham, Eastbourne, Hastings, Crawley). We can be flexible with location for a well-experienced candidate.
