A healthcare provider in Salford is looking for a Specialty Doctor to work in the community. The role includes conducting patient assessments, attending meetings, and providing support to team members. Candidates should hold an MBBS or equivalent, be eligible for GMC registration, and have completed significant postgraduate training in psychiatry. The position offers a salary range of £61,542 to £99,216 annually, with responsibilities that involve both emergency assessments and ongoing patient care.
The post is community based with most work being undertaken at Cromwell House. This will include new patients, follow‑up appointments, attending the weekly meeting with the CMHT, taking part in CPA meetings and conducting home visits. There will be at least 1 new patient assessment per week and about 15-16 follow‑up patients (including CPA reviews) spread over clinic sessions and a third flexible clinical session, allowing for emergency work – no more than 2 PA per month of MHA work and associated clinical admin.
The post holder would be expected to see emergency assessments following a duty assessment (by care coordinator rota) and engage in Section 12 work for patients allocated to their teams. The CMHT has the acute assessment role of a crisis team as per the local Acute Care Pathway (ACP), meaning all referrals to secondary services are triaged in community teams and assessed before referral on. The post‑holder would provide advice and support to other team members, primarily for their own case‑load but also for new patient queries and general advice.
