Job Summary

The successful candidate will join our busy team providing a Specialty Doctor Ophthalmology service for inpatients, day cases and outpatients, with continuing responsibility for the patients, their care and the effective running of the department.

We are looking for an experienced Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology with a specialist interest in Oculoplastic.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a Specialty Doctor Ophthalmology service for day cases and out-patients, with continuing responsibility for the patients, their care and for the effective functioning of the department.
  • Provide a specialist lacrimal and oculoplastic expertise for the Trust to serve the local population.
  • Carry out teaching duties as required and take an active part in the education programme of junior medical staff, nurses and AHP's.
  • Provide supervision and training to junior hospital doctors.
  • Participate in clinical audit, evidence-based practice and clinical governance within the department.
  • Participate in regional sub-speciality audit and clinical governance and actively participate in continuing professional development (CPD).
