Our NHS Clients is one of the largest and most forward‑thinking trusts in the country, caring for a population of over 1.2 million people across three major hospital sites.

They are proud of the dynamic culture — one that values collaboration, professional growth, and patient‑centred excellence.

Role

As a Specialty Doctor in Oncology, you'll play a key role within the Cancer Division, supporting the delivery of high‑quality, safe, and compassionate care for patients across the region.

You will
  • Provide oncological care and advice in collaboration with consultants and the wider multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Participate in Acute Oncology Services, outpatient clinics, and chemotherapy units.
  • Attend and contribute to multi‑disciplinary meetings (MDTs) to optimise patient management.
  • Support consultant‑led clinics and provide cover for colleagues as required.
  • Engage in clinical audit, education, and research to maintain and enhance standards of care.
  • Teach and supervise junior medical staff and students, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
You’ll benefit from
  • A collaborative, multidisciplinary oncology team, supported by expert consultants, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists and allied professionals.
  • Access to continuing professional development, funded study leave and mentorship to help you achieve your career ambitions.
  • A healthy work‑life balance, with flexible working options aligned to service needs.
  • Opportunities to contribute to research, innovation, and teaching in a university hospital environment.
The Oncology Services

The Oncology Service is delivered across three hospital sites, with the Cancer Centre based at one of the main sites that offers comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, SACT, and radiotherapy services supported by modern infrastructure including:

  • State‑of‑the‑art Chemotherapy Treatment Units at 2 sites
  • A Radiotherapy Department equipped with Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators, HDR Brachytherapy, AI auto‑contouring, and cutting‑edge treatment planning systems.
  • Active programmes in Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SABR), VMAT, IGRT, and Brachytherapy.
What We’re Looking For
  • MBBS (or equivalent) qualified and fully registered with the GMC.
  • Have at least four years’ postgraduate training, including at least two years within an oncology or related specialty.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care with compassion and professionalism.
  • Strong communicators with effective multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Enthusiastic teachers and lifelong learners who thrive in a fast‑evolving clinical environment.

A higher qualification or UK oncology examination is desirable but not essential — we’re equally keen to hear from talented doctors looking to expand their oncology experience.
