Job summary

A regional healthcare provider in Barnsley is seeking a full-time Specialty Doctor to be part of its Memory Assessment and Support Service. The role requires a dedicated professional with postgraduate training in psychiatry and significant clinical experience in older adult psychiatry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities, contributing to high-quality patient care and actively participating in education and clinical audit initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have good standing with GMC regarding practice.
• Experience working in Memory clinic or Care Home Liaison Team.
• Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 6 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care as part of the Memory Assessment and Support Service.
• Engage in teaching, training, and continuous professional development.
• Participate in clinical audits and service evaluations.

Skills

Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty

Demonstrates emotional intelligence and leadership skills

Education

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification

Fully registered with the GMC

At least 6 months experience in older adult psychiatry

Spent a minimum of four years in postgraduate training
