A local health board in Llantrisant is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics for a fixed-term position. The role involves providing middle-grade cover and developmental opportunities in various paediatric specialties. Candidates should have full GMC registration, relevant training, and good communication skills. This post is a replacement of an existing post but offers diverse roles and developmental opportunities tailored to the applicant’s interests. It provides middle‑grade cover to the general paediatric, PAU at RGH and to the outpatient clinics under the supervision of consultants, complementing the existing middle‑grade posts in the department. The post holder will participate in a 1:8 prospective rolling rota shared with existing specialty doctors.
The post holder will be based at RGH but may be expected to work across different sites within the Health Board depending upon needs.

The post holder will have opportunities to develop expertise in an area of paediatric specialty such as epilepsy, diabetes, allergy, asthma, cardiology, community paediatrics and neurodevelopmental paediatrics.
The post holder will also have opportunities to undertake professional development activities, audit work, and will engage in the appraisal process.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
