We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated ambitious individual to join our well integrated team to support us with our treatment and education services in Dental Sedation. We offer excellent clinical facilities in our dedicated Sedation Department; which consists of sedation surgeries, a recovery area and pre-assessment rooms. All surgeries have the facility to undertake intravenous and inhalational sedation. The post is available from January 2026 and is a permanent position.
You will be an experienced Dental Surgeon with an enthusiasm to communicate your own knowledge and experience to students and patients. You will have been fully registered with the GDC for at least three years and have experience of intravenous and inhalational conscious sedation. You will be offered a structured induction and support with the opportunity for further educational development. You will assume responsibility for the planning, co-ordination and delivery of specific components of service and teaching in partnership with clinical and academic colleagues.
The primary aim of the 0.8 WTE Specialty Doctor post is to provide a clinical sedation service (intravenous and inhalational) and comprehensive dental treatment for patients in the Sedation Department, under the direction of the consultant lead. The post-holder will also contribute to the organisation and delivery of sedation teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The nature of the post requires that candidates should have substantial experience in conscious sedation, as defined and practiced according to UK guidelines on dental sedation. Possession of a postgraduate qualification in dental sedation or a commitment to undertake this qualification within the first 18 months of appointment is essential.
As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you.
