About The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor with a minimum of 4 years post‑graduate experience in acute and/or general internal medicine to join our teams in delivering high‑quality senior level care to acutely unwell patients in our outlier areas.

Responsibilities
  • Outlier ward rounds
  • Specialty work (option of Acute, Infectious Diseases, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Older Persons Medicine, Respiratory and Emergency Medicine)
  • 2:6 weekends, clinical duties
  • Direct patient care – routine medical and psychiatric support, including initial assessments, mental state examinations and management of inpatients under consultant supervision
  • Diagnosis and treatment – carry out investigations, make diagnoses and implement treatment plans, including preparing discharge summaries
  • Communication – effectively communicate with patients, relatives, staff and other stakeholders, maintaining appropriate records and reports
  • Service delivery – contribute to service delivery and improvement, attend multidisciplinary meetings and participate in audit activities
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years post‑graduate experience in acute and/or general internal medicine
  • Ability to work within a weekly timetable that incorporates outlier ward rounds, specialty work, weekend coverage and clinical duties
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, investigation, treatment planning and discharge summary preparation
  • Effective communication abilities with patients, families, colleagues and other stakeholders
