The post includes general duties in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with four defined Special Interest areas to be supported: benign gynaecology operating, maternal medicine, simulation and education training, and chronic pelvic pain. Duties include labour ward, antenatal and gynaecology clinics, fetal and maternal medicine clinics, elective theatre lists, obstetrics and gynaecology on call and special interest sessions. The appointee will care for inpatients and outpatients in Obstetrics and Gynaecology under direct or indirect supervision of Consultants.
The appointee will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and Horton General Hospital, Banbury. Duties in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology cover both units, including the Maternity Assessment Unit, Delivery Suite, Antenatal and Postnatal wards, Antenatal clinic, Gynaecology clinics, and theatres. There is an opportunity to undertake ATSMs, participate in departmental teaching, and SPA time in weekly sessions.
This post includes 1 in 9 out of hours on-call commitment with compensatory rest and is compliant with a 1b contract. The post is full time. Induction will be arranged at the start of the post.
